Designed for first- and second-year students, Grand Hall features single and double suite-style rooms. It also has classrooms, dedicated Learning Community educational and innovation spaces, study rooms, floor lounges, kitchens and laundry rooms.

Dining: Grand Hall features a new 740-seat dining hall that includes restaurant-style seating, a fireplace, multiple food stations and an outdoor courtyard.

Population: Up to 528 first- and second-year students on six residential floors. Single-gender suites on mixed-gender floors.

Visiting Restrictions: Opposite-sex guests may not visit during the hours of 1 to 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday or 4 to 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday. All guests must be checked in at the front desk and escorted by their host at all times.
Special Hours: Grand Hall is closed over Thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks.

Three Learning Communities

Grand Hall is home to the Diversity and Global Citizenship, Engineering and Innovation and Ethical Leaders in Business  learning communities.

SLU's Diversity and Global Citizenship Learning Community explores what it means to live in a global society. Students living in this community further their knowledge of diverse peoples, communities, and societies and the human experience on a local and global scale.

The Engineering and Innovation Learning Community is a group of scholars admitted to SLU's Parks College of Aviation, Engineering and Technology who share a commitment to the fields of engineering, physics, and flight science.

The Ethical Leaders in Business Learning Community is open to students in all majors within the John Cook School of Business, including deciding students within the school.
