Across the nation and around the world, Saint Louis University is routinely recognized for rigorous scholarship and research in a variety of disciplines.
The following graduate programs at SLU are ranked in the top 50 in the nation for 2018:
For 2018, SLU was listed 94 out of the country's top 311 national universities, with individual rankings for top undergraduate programs in entrepreneurship (No. 9), international business (No. 12) and accounting (No. 33). Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked SLU among the "Best Colleges for Veterans" and named SLU to its top-50 "Best Values Schools" list.
SLU's excellence is noted in both The Best 381 Colleges: 2017 Edition and The Best 295 Business Schools. In addition to being named one of the best U.S. colleges overall, SLU was included on lists ranking the nation’s top 25 entrepreneurship programs — both undergraduate and graduate.
SLU is one of only nine Catholic universities to receive a Carnegie Classification of “higher” or “highest” research activity.
Forbes’ list of more than 650 undergraduate institutions is based on the quality of the education, as well as student experiences and achievements.
This listing of the 322 "best and most interesting" schools in the United States, Canada and Great Britain is based on the quality of academic offerings and student responses on a variety of topics.

From eight objective indicators, such as the number of alumni and faculty who’ve earned international awards, SLU ranked No. 364 out of 1,000 universities from nearly 60 countries — among the top 1.5 percent of all colleges and universities worldwide.
SLU has the No. 1 medieval philosophy doctoral program in the English-speaking world, according to the 2014 Philosophical Gourmet Report. SLU is tied with Notre Dame, ahead of Cambridge and Oxford. Graduate programs in philosophy ranked No. 47 overall.
Learning outcomes improve when students are curious, interested or passionate — in other words, “engaged.” At SLU, service is integrated into academics, extracurricular activities and nearly all we do, and the nation has taken notice.
For eight consecutive years, SLU has been named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service-learning and civic engagement. SLU was the only institution in Missouri to earn distinction in the area of interfaith service.
For the fifth consecutive year, Washington Monthly ranked SLU No. 4 in the country for community service in its “2015 College Guide.”

SLU ranked No. 56 on Kiplinger's list of the 100 top values in American private universities for 2016. Rankings considered cost and financial aid, student indebtedness, competitiveness, graduation rates and academic support.
SLU was named one of approximately 220 U.S. colleges and universities that provides a "first-class education at affordable prices." In the publication, Barron's 11th edition calls SLU an "urban research university that refuses to act like one, caring for each individual as a total person and drawing its undergraduates into the life of the surrounding community."
The 2016 edition recognizes colleges that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students, including efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, and academic accreditations.
Sustainability is a priority at Saint Louis University. It is our goal to reduce energy and water use institution wide by 20 percent by 2020. SLU has received national recognition for these and other efforts.

The Sierra Club ranked SLU among the top 100 green universities.
SLU is one of eight institutions in Missouri, and only the second Jesuit institution, to be rewarded by the Arbor Day Foundation for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.
With such a vibrant campus, it’s no wonder Saint Louis University has been lauded for its beautiful urban setting and historic buildings.
St. Francis Xavier College Church was ranked No. 23 on this list by theologydegrees.org. In addition, the church was recognized by collegeranker.com on its 2015 “50 Most Beautiful College Campus Wedding Venues” list. At No. 2, SLU is the only university in Missouri, and the only Jesuit school in the nation, on the list.
Spoon University, powered by more than 3,000 student contributors at 100 college campuses, listed SLU’s Fresh Gatherings as one of best dining halls in the country.
Saint Louis University Museum of Art is No. 4 among the top 50 college and university museums in the nation, according to CollegeRank.net. SLUMA was the only museum in Missouri on the list.
